Generate data in bitmaps and database.
Painting programs generally define data as bitmaps.
Drawing or drafting gnerally define data as databases.
Generate data primarily in databases.
Structure of the databases vary from program to program, which makes moving models from one to another often difficult. Requires software to translate the data from one to another.
Bitmap is closely linked to screen buffer (VRAM) making display quick. Database data must be translated into bitmap before being loaded into screen buffer.
