Instructions
Please note the above schedule. Each team is asked to confirm, via email or in writing, the above schedule.
  • All members of the team are expected to make a part of the presentation. Grading is based on the quality of the research, the clarity of the presentation (both graphic and verbal), and the understanding of the issues and the facts. There should be no assumption that all grades for members within a team will be equal. A reminder that we are not interested in speculation.
  • All members of the class are expected to attend all presentations. The entire purpose of the exercise is to allow the information to be shared with others. The entire semester has been leading to this presentation. Every presentation you miss is information you lose! Your attendance is expected.
  • Each member of the class is required to take comprehensive notes during the presentation. At the conclusion of the presentations, these notes must be turned in. Note that no grade will be issued if this submittal is not made.

The presentation
  • The final presentation is made to the entire class. It is a method of sharing the information gleaned from the investigation with others. It becomes the task of the team to pass on, as best they can, the information.
  • At the conclusion of the course, every student should have benefited from the work of everyone else and should have some knowledge of the various building types being explored.
  • This year all presentations will be made using a laptop and a video projector which the school will provide. If the team wishes to use two laptops and two video projectors the team is responsible for providing adequate notice so that the projector may be provided. The team will be responsible for any second laptop that my be needed.

The documentation

  • The images are of the analytic drawings and of the building itself. For every image that is drawn there should be an image of the actual condition in the building.
  • The images and the text of the presentation are to be arranged in a document, a PowerPoint or equivalent presentation format.

For PowerPoint presentations

  • Each video presentation must begin with a title slide declaring the names of the buildings, their locations, purpose, architects and date of construction. The title slide must also include the names of the team members and the date of the presentation.
  • Each slide must have a title or header.
  • Each slide must have a footer that includes the date and the page number.
  • Images must be clearly labeled.

The bibliography
  • Every presentation must be accompanied by an outline of the text of the presentation. It does not have to be a running narrative. An outline is sufficient.
  • Every presentation must also be accompanied by a bibliography noting any reference materials used that contributed significant information to your research. Note that bibliographic references include people or organisations which have contributed significant information on the project. For personal references relevant contact information should be provided.

Retention of material

According to the university and the School's white book, products produced within a course are the property of the institution, providing this is stated in the course syllabus. Please note that this course's syllabus does state that the right of retention of material is invoked. Student team members will continue to have access to the materials for reproduction purposes.

Digital information - final submission

All presentations must provide a copy of the digital presentation, in CD form. The CD must include:

  • The entire PowerPoint presentation.
  • The text of the outline or talking points.
  • A separate folder for each building, clearly labeled XXX Building Images (Ex. Beth David Synagogue Images) with all images of that building placed in the folder. This may include images that were taken but not used in the presentation.
  • A separate folder for each building, clearly labeled XXX Building Drawings with CAD, Viz, or FormZ files of the building, whether they were used in the presentation or not.
