The school has ordered a Formech 450 vacuum former. It should be available for use in late January or early February. Protocols for use will be posted soon.
It will be housed in the CNC room (011).
Hours for the laser cutter are M-F, 12-6 pm. Check the
Laser Cutting section for details on how to submit work.
The 3d printer and CNC mill are both available for student use. Check the links on the left for usage instructions.
Tips
- Students can drop off their work with a laser cutter monitor, then stop back later to pick up the completed job. Work to be cut must be submitted as AutoCAD files, and must use the AutoCAD template. The template is sized to fit the laser cutter bed, and has colors already set up for cut, score, fold and skip. The template file can be downloaded here, or found by logging onto a lab computer and looking in the Courses Drive (Drive letter M) in the ‘Laser Cutter Template’ folder.
- Only certain materials are allowed for use in the laser cutters. Check out the list before you purchase.
